Madness from Segway

Norost iz podjetja Segway

Segway entered the powersports market in 2020 with the Villain model, which was intended to be the first hybrid UTV. In the following years, they added several gasoline-powered models. However, the new Super Villain Segway takes things to a whole new level, combining exceptional power from both sources – gasoline and electricity. Such a powerful hybrid as the Super Villain represents a significant step forward for the company, offering greater performance and better efficiency than previous models.

A new "villain" is coming to the market. The Segway Super Villain SX20T Hybrid is a recreational vehicle offering an astonishing 330 horsepower. But if you prefer raw power, the gasoline-only version still offers an incredible 235 horsepower.

Let's start with the hybrid version, the Segway Super Villain SX20 Hybrid, as it offers exceptional power in its class. With a 2.0-liter parallel-twin engine and turbocharger, it exceeds the typical 1000 cc limit respected by most other manufacturers. The engine itself produces 235 horsepower and is equipped with a six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. Additionally, it allows switching between two-wheel and four-wheel drive, enabling greater adaptability on various terrains.

After the hybrid version, the standard Super Villain SX20 seems almost boring. It uses the same 2.0-liter engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering 235 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. Although slightly slower in accelerating to 100 km/h, with a time of 5 seconds, it still impresses all competitors. The acceleration for the hybrid version, however, remains a secret.

You can choose between three driving modes: normal, race, and climb. Segway has not yet specified what changes occur in the engine and transmission, but each mode changes the background of the fully digital speedometer.

The Smart Commanding system, controlled by a touchscreen, offers a map with GPS and includes Bluetooth connectivity. Vehicle status, settings, and music can be selected via the screen, and it also provides navigation. The system connects to the Smart Moving app, which allows connecting with other drivers and remotely tracking and locking your Super Villain.

The Super Villain will be available for sale in 2025. Segway has not yet revealed the exact price but has offered a rough estimate: approximately $30,000 for the gasoline model and $40,000 for the hybrid. As expected for such power, a high price also comes with it, meaning with great power comes great responsibility.
